With our first DSE TE Rankings, 49ers TE George Kittle got all 4 1st place votes, placing him directly ahead of KC TE Travis Kelce. The separation between Kelce and our 3rd ranked TE Mark Andrews is closer (2.3 and 3.0 respectively) than expected. Andrews jumped up the TE board last year and seems to have supplanted Eagles TE Zack Ertz among the elite TEs in the league. Ertz is tied with Evan Engram for 4th in our initial TE rankings.
Due to a late-season surge with the Rams in 2019, Tyler Higbee hits our top 10 at #9, just ahead of 2nd year TE TJ Hockenson.
Possibly the leagues’ best stable of TE’s resides in Tampa. With Gronk coming out of retirement, and OJ Howard and Cameron Brate already existing on the Bucs roster, Brady will have a trio of good TE targets, and we all know he loves his TEs.
With regards to rookie TEs, 2020 wasn’t the strongest year for the TE position. Adam Trautman heads up the class, coming in at 25, followed by Bears TE Cole Kmet at 27. It will be interesting to see where people have the Pats rookie TE Asiasi ranked in future rankings now that Cam Newton probably will be the QB under center in New England.
